Loose Fighting Grappling / Fight Shorts.
For the most part fighters have three choices for ring attire; Maui Thai Shorts, Tight fight short or other purpose shorts such as gym shorts or board shorts. Starting with the last first; other purpose shorts are simply the worst option. For starter they are highly unprofessional. Looks counts folks. Also they are not built for the game. They don’t fit right, they don’t last and did I mention they look like crap?
OK – Mauy Thai shorts. OK they look cool, they are comfy and give great range of motion. The problem of course is they do not stay in place. They ride down, ride up and ride side ways. Also the wide legs can get caught up and get in the way. These shorts are made for Maui Thai – not grappling, not MMA.
The tight shorts. The short tight shorts are very common; but personally I don’t like them. They look like underwear. There are some good ones out there and some great manufactures. But I like the longer shorts. If for no other reason; more room for sponsors. Plus any elastic waist bands; not matter how tight still slip or ride up. I have seem more wedgies in this game then I care to remember.
Now there is Sprawl Shorts. Sprawls is going to revolutionize fight wear. Sprawl shorts have a unique waist band design that keeps the shorts in place better then anything out there. They stay in place when tugged, pulled or rolled. They don’t come undone. The shorts give full range of motion and work well on the mat.
So functionality is outstanding. Beyond function they have great style. Sprawl shorts look professional. Great design, color and function.
Beyond the Shorts Sprawl is also revolutionizing the world of Rash Guards. Unlike surfer Rash Guards that are constrictively tight Sprawl Grappling Tops are a true fit shirt. They fit perfect for grappling. They don’t get in the way and they don’t constrict. Try one of these shirts once and they will become your grappling top.
